  • Vision Therapy with PreschoolersWe love to identify vision problems as early as possible, however, working with preschoolers can present challenges! When my boys were small, it gave me a new perspective on appropriate activities both as a doctor recommending in-office optometric vision therapy and as a mom completing activities to reinforce vision development at home. Here are some other notes about vision training with preschool-aged kiddos. - Dr. Simonson
  • My Perfect Vision is an illustrated storybook for children that explains the common symptoms and best treatment for focusing problems. Do you recognize the flipper on the front cover? Focusing training often utilizes plus and minus lenses.
  • Dr. Simonson's second book, My Double Vision, was published in December 2016. This picture book explains the signs and symptoms of esotropia (crossed-eye). Learn about the current testing methods and vision therapy training used to correct this vision disorder.
  • Dr. Simonson's latest book, My Jumbled Vision is about the vision problems experienced after a concussion. "If you fumble and take a tumble - your vision may jumble!"
  • Coming Soon in August 2018! My Mismatched Vision is about refractive amblyopia (reduced vision due to a strong eyeglasses prescription).
  • 6_opto Dr. Simonson is a co-founder for Gerull Labs (g-Labs), the creative force behind bringing the concept of a 3D vision building app to reality. By use of anaglyphic (red/cyan) glasses and a stereoscope, images pop up off the iPad screen. The OPTO App was nominated as  Top 10 Finalist in The Mobileys.
  • In the Vision Therapy Clinic, we utilize stereoscopes to provide a separate image to the right eye and left eye. The patient has to do two things - sensory fusion and motor alignment to see the full 3-D picture. In the Opto App with the Stereoscope for iPad, we have a series of both convergence and divergence exercises to build these fusion skills.
  • VO_Star_Opto_Report The Van Orden Star was the first exercise I suggested for the Opto App project. Learn more about the features and use of this exercise developed for the iPad.
  • Opto VO Star for Vision Therapy training. Dr. Simonson presented a poster at the 2015 Annual Meeting of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development Meeting. It is entitled: Van Orden Training Utilizing the Stereoscope for iPad
