Dr. Jen Simonson, OD, FCOVD joined the Dowis Vision Therapy Center, now the Boulder Valley Vision Therapy Center in February 2008COV. Dr. Simonson graduated summa cum laude from the Ohio State University with a B.S. in biology and was given "Distinction in Biology" and "Honors in the Liberal Arts" awards upon graduation. She continued on and received her doctorate in 2003. As a doctoral student, Simonson served as President of the Sports Vision Club, working with athletes at the Ohio State University and University of Cincinnati.
Dr. Simonson began practicing optometry in Colorado in 2003, and is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Colorado Optometric Association, the Optometric Extension Program, and the Front Range Optometric Society. Dr. Simonson volunteers for the InfantSEE program, and is an adjunct clinical instructor for the Illinois College of Optometry. She completed her Fellowship in the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (FCOVD) in 2006 and in 2007 was named the Colorado Young Optometrist of the Year. Dr. Simonson enjoys public speaking and has given presentation to teachers, parents, therapists, and students about the importance of vision in all walks of life.
As a former vision therapy patient and therapist, she is passionate about vision therapy and excited to join Dowis Vision Therapy Center, and we are happy and honored to have her!
